All Dinosaurs – ‘Rules of Civility and Decent Behaviour’

By Clara Cullen

Hurling through their second full length album in just over 34 minutes means that All Dinosaurs manage an average of slightly over 3 minutes per each vicious, hectic track.

The four piece thrash infused hardcore band hail from Cleveland, Ohio and their unrelenting, brutal approach to their sound is admirable. It is to be noted, however, that their sound and style hasn’t progressed substantially since their last full-length, ‘Paranoid Indigenous’, and call it an old-fashioned attitude, but it does knock some brownie points off an otherwise solid, well-constructed release.

In terms of sheer speed, power, attitude and aggression, drummer Joe Willis is one of the finest in the business. His talents really bring a new depth and dimension to a band with a style of music that could easily be lost in a sea of its contemporaries.

Tracks such as ‘Sad Song’ and ‘Mongoloid’ really showcase the various influences of All Dinosaurs, and the vocals rage throughout a final package that fans of hardcore, thrash and good old metal will be able to embrace. There are rough edges and ‘Rules of Civility and Decent Behaviour’ is certainly nothing ground-breaking, but it’s well worth checking out if you’re looking for a new band to check out.
