David Lehr – Daisy

By paul

To look at David Lehr appears to be a bit of a Justin Bieber clone but whilst I have no idea how old he actually is his self recorded EP Daisy sounds a great deal more mature than I expected. Mainly acoustic this 6 track DIY bedroom EP is sweet and tuneful. Lehr has a classic but mesmerising voice and this record is a fine example of his talents however although the vocals are strong I feel that some of the songs could do with a bit more oomph as the EP slips into sounding samey and a bit too soft. Soppy lyrics complete the tick list of components for a singer songwriter and whilst I believe Lehr definitely has skills a bit more depth would definitely enhance the record, as some of the tracks sound more like demos than completed work. Daisy is available to download free from his Myspace and worth it if you’re after something a bit summery and chilled out.
