Francesqa – /Person L split EP

By paul

Francesqa‘s latest EP is one of the best debuts my a British band in as long as I can remember. Person L are fronted by Kenny Vasoli of The Starting Line. Put simply, this record just could not fail, no way.

And unsurprisingly, it doesn’t. It’s a cracker. Francesqa carry on where they left off with ‘Years’ and rousing new b-side ‘Lonely Home’, which has the kind of soaring choruses bands take years and years to perfect. Somehow Francesqa have managed to nail the formula on every single song they’ve released thus far. Person L do the exact same thing, showcasing Kenny’s versatility as a songwriter. Whereas TSL was all about the melodies and the pop, this side project is much more about the music and the emotion. ‘Goodness Gracious’ is a real footstomping anthem, while ‘Seesaw’ has a real bluesy feel. It wraps this four-tracker up very nicely and makes it pretty essential listening.
