Onion Flavored Rings – Two Minutes Enlightenment

By bushy

Onion Flavored Rings hail from San Francisco and the three-piece are made up of the remnants of a number of other bands. The band’s latest release is entitled ‘Two Minutes Enlightenment’ and is released via No Idea. Onion Flavored Rings have a very strong sound, drawing from the worlds of punk, pop, folk and country. Over the course of the album we are treated to good songs, solid vocal harmonies and heartfelt and sometimes bitter lyrics.

There is much to enjoy on ‘Two Minutes Enlightenment’ for the short time it lasts for. There are a number of little pop-punk gems here, especially ‘Inconclusive’, ‘Laughing’, and the excellent ‘Venus’. If you fancy something a little bit different from your usual pop punk fare you should check these guys out.
