The Machines Will Take Over – Self-titled 7″

By bushy

Normally at Punktastic towers we turn our noses up at anything with less than three tracks. Vinyl, however, is another story, and is something we’re always happy to give a bit of coverage too. One of the latest shiny black records to land through our letterbox is this self titled two-track effort by The Machines Will Take Over. Driving, melodic punk rock is the order of the day here and is something the band showcase both on ‘I thought about a romantic meal for two’ and ‘Talking to mirrors’. Whilst the production is a little ropey in places, both tracks are very listenable. The vinyl also comes encased in a nicely styled cardboard sleeve, and if you add that to the strength of the two songs, this proves to be a nice little set.
