The Priscillas – Aloha from Holloway

By bushy

The Priscillas are an all-girl band consisting of four members. Their glam-punk-pop-rock sound attracted the attention of Damaged Goods and following a couple of successful singles the group are unleashing their debut min-album, ‘Aloha from Holloway’.

At first glance you may think these girls are going to be a case of style over substance, with the very obvious 50’s rock and roll style clothes and hair. However, The Priscillas prove to be very competent in the song writing department. The band play a brand of pop/rock that is heavily influenced by the likes of The Ramones and the Shangri-Las. Fuzzy guitars mix with strong vocals and tongue-in-cheek lyrics. ‘Gonna rip up your photograph’ opens the min-album in style, fusing speed, strong guitar lines and solid harmonies. ‘All my friends are zombies’ raises the bar again in the form of an eerie, fun and pretty much perfect pop song. ‘Brain Surgeon’ is driven by a great drum beat and ‘Should be me’ and ‘Can’t Decidefurther reinforce what this band is about.

With ‘Aloha from Holloway’ The Priscillas have come up with a debut min-album that should appeal to a broad spectrum of music fans. Their mix of glam, punk, pop and rock makes for a strong sound and their sense of fun adds to the package. Look out for these girls because they look like they are going places…
