Lazy, lazy, lazy. 2) There’s really no need at all for a 6 (yes, SIX) Dividers – Demo “Dividers are a pretty new pop punk band from Swansea, South Wales. We’ve played our first show in February 2010 and since then have toured the UK, as well as playing with some of our favourite bands. We’ve been compared to bands like Get Bent, The Front Bottoms – Slow Dance To Soft Rock I was asked to review this record by the guys at Alter The Press who have been championing them for a bit. They’re based in New Jersey and a three-piece, although their sound is more akin to a band with double the members. There’s all Friday 08 October 2010 Canterbury contest winner The winner of our Canterbury contest was Laura Mardon. Congrats. Please, no more entries! To celebrate this wonderful news we are giving one lucky person the following prize: A Canterbury ‘Sweet Rock’ t-shirt (can be seen here: canterburythankyou.com/store), a ‘Eleven, Twelve/Friends?’ Donots – The Long Way Home We last reviewed Donots in 2002 when Nick wrote about ‘Pocketrock’. I think that kind of sums up the band’s influence on the UK scene – they’ve done marvellously well on the continent, but not so well in this country. The band have been over once The Maine – Birmingham Academy 2 Only 2 bands played the show which meant they got just over an hour each. Whilst Mayday Parade made the most of this, The maine did not. In matching black shirts they opened with a pretty dreary number which to me set the Wednesday 06 October 2010 GAD back from the dead Gatsbys American Dream have reformed. Skints with Rome The Skints are confirmed to support Sublime with Rome on the 2 UK shows this week.
