Awesomefest 10 Friday Night @ Soda Bar, The Hideout, San Diego

Awesomefest is an annual celebration of family, pop punk, burritos, beer, pizza, and whiskey. The first weekend in September, hundreds of punks descend on San Diego, California for a weekend of some of the best pop punk has to offer. The schedule is set up so that you can bounce back and forth between the two clubs hosting the night shows or the day shows and see most of every band, if you want. Friday night’s revelation was Melted, a band from just an hour or so north, but who I had never seen before. The ruled the night with their energy and incredibly tight music.
