Awesomefest 10 San Diego Pre-fest @ Soda Bar & The Hideout

Every Labor Day weekend (the weekend before the first Monday in September), the world’s largest family reunion is held in San Diego. Well, it’s really a DIY pop punk fest, but it feels like a family reunion. Punks and bands from all over the country and all over the world converge on San Diego, and the closeness and camaraderie makes it feels like family. Awesomefest officially runs from Friday night through Sunday night, but every year, on Thursday night, there are pre-fest shows, one in Pomona, California, one in Tijuana, Mexico, and one in San Diego. These pre-fests include a sampling of bands from the main fest and local bands. The following photographs show a mere sampling of the fun from the San Diego pre-fest.
