On Saturday, La Escalera Fest 7 moved to the heart of San Diego’s North Park neighborhood, with shows scheduled for the afternoon and evening at Bar Pink (co-owned by John Reis of Hot Snakes, Rocket From The Crypt, Drive like Jehu, and other bands) and The Office, which also serves as a venue for Awesome Fest’s day shows.
Saturday was the big day, with Seattle’s Success headlining at The Office and Las Vegas’ Mercy Music at the top of the bill at Bar Pink. The sets were arranged so that fest-goers could walk the block between the clubs and see every band, as there was no overlap. Bands from all over the western part of the United States were on hand, including bands from Denver, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Los Angeles, and California’s Inland Empire joined in the fun.
