Marty Ploy is a Southern California institution. Party Marty, as he is known, has been booking shows under the moniker ‘The Party’s Over Productions’ for fifteen years. But more than book shows, Marty has been about creating a community, bringing together like-minded people, creating a space where everyone feels welcome, connected, safe, and important to the growth of the scene.
To celebrate fifteen years of The Party’s Over Productions, Marty threw a party at Out of the Park Pizza, in Anaheim, California, featuring five local Southern California favorites. Opening the party were The Stupid Daikini, a trio with bright personalities who play dark, angry music. LA’s lysolgang were next, with a blast of fun pop punk. After that was the unique blend of psychedelic gypsy metallic punk from The Manx. Turkish Techno, a band that doesn’t play out often enough anymore gave us their super-tight pop punk sounds. And Western Settings closed out the night with a set of their deeply felt post-punk songs.
Thanks, Marty! Here’s to the next fifteen years!
