A new (better) direction for Punktastic

By

With the start of a new tax year approaching we’ve got some major news which will change the future of Punktastic forever. As regulars will know, we’ve been getting more and more hits everday and now we’re regularly hitting over 10,000 a day which is mad! The downside being the bandwidth is killing us financially, we were starting to rack up debts which none of us want or can really afford. We tried selling merch and banner ads to raise funds but the spiralling popularity of the site has been our own downfall.

I’ll cut to the chase – we’ve been bought out by a large American company who are taking care of us financially. This allows us to not only keep the site going but to expand upon the foundations we’ve already built; online video and radio channels are being sorted out as we speak and will hopefully air by the summer and this is just a taster of things to come! As we all know ‘punk’ is now virtually non-existant in it’s original form and covering that genre solely we are limiting our target audience greatly – so we are going to cover a wider variety of music from across the rock spectrum, something which we’ve been asked to do by you, the readers, on many occasion. We are of course going to still cover the unsigned UK bands we already do but now as we are getting wage a few of us can dedicate even more time to the site to make it even bigger and better.

I guess I should say a few words about our saviours. Well, they’ve recently stepped up their business in the UK by buying into the Mean Fiddler group and made us a very generous offer we’d be stupid to refuse. They get a lot of bad press but I think Clear Channel are not the demons they’re made out to be. The money they’re pumping into this site will only make this site better and better and that cannot be a bad thing! We hope you will understand and support us. Thanks.
