Balls to Borders Is This Weekend

By Maryam Hassan

Balls to Borders, a football tournament raising funds and supplies to support the ongoing refugee crisis, is taking place in Leeds this weekend. It features 16 teams from around the country made up of bands, supporters, promoters and lots of fantastic people who will be battling it out on the pitch to win a trophy designed and made by students at Horburb Academy. It is going to be a brilliant time.

If you don’t like football, the event will also have fundraising activities going on all day. So if you are much more into betting, cakes or getting down with a raffle (that has some awesome prizes spirits, wines, skate gear, gig tickets, clothing and something special from Billy Bragg!) they have you covered.

The tournament is being held at Goals in Leeds, a child friendly facility so bring along families or siblings and support a great cause in the process. It’s £10 per player, but free to watch as a supporter with kick off at 2pm. More details can be found on Facebook.
