Bayside forced to part ways with band logo

By Ben Tipple

In a bizarre turn of events, it emerged over the weekend that Bayside have been forced to no longer use their iconic bird logo. The distinctive emblem, pictured on the front cover of their most recent full-length ‘Cult’, has now been trademarked by a Mexican telecommunications company.

After initial speculation that this was an early April Fool’s joke, the internet was quick to respond with a picture from frontman Anthony Raneri’s Tumblr, depicting the bird in use on the company’s advert four years ago.

After reportedly being contacted by the band asking them to stop using it the company used copyright laws to claim the picture for themselves, thus making it illegal for Bayside to use the logo.

Bayside have posted a video explaining the situation, and have began work on a new logo.
