Cumbrian punks Colt 45 will release their new ‘Snakes & Ladders’ EP on the 29th April 2016, playing a special release show at The Brickyard in their hometown that same day.
“’Snakes & Ladders’ is our reaction to the current state of the rock scene. Bar a few exceptions it just doesn’t say anything to us, and we wanted to make a record that had the same appeal as the ones we listened to growing up,” says drummer Adam Lewis.
“Bands like The Movielife, Brand New, The Replacements, Alkaline Trio, The Ataris, Hot Water Music – those records made you feel like you belonged to part of something that was bigger than the sum of its parts, that anyone with a guitar or a drum kit could start a band and have a go.”
“The whole point of music for us is that it’s inclusive, it brings people together and there’s a shared platform where artists and fans are on the same level. Just do what you like and get out there and show people.”
Although any new music from the release is yet to surface, the band are still donating all proceeds from recent single ‘I Remember When The Rain Came Down’ to the Cumbrian Flood Appeal.
Colt 45 begin a short tour alongside Southampton dirty-pop outfit Faux.
