DCD2 Records launched by Pete Wentz

By Kseniya Zinchenko

In the recent interview with the Rolling Stones, Pete Wentz has announced that he will be relaunching Decaydance Records as DCD2.

Originally, the bass player of Fall Out Boy has launched Decaydance Records in 2005 in New York, where the first band to-be-signed was Panic! At The Disco. They were followed by Cobra Starship, Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes and finally Travie McCoy. Now, the label is being rebranded with a few artists being added, such as LOLO and New Politics.

Here is what Pete had to say:

“The idea behind the label originally was a gang, something that would be us versus the world…I took a few years off the same time the band did, but I didnt stop listening to new music… I always felt like it was my responsibility to nurture and magnify the profile of other artists… Today we begin doing that again. Today i want to announce DCD2- this is the next chapter, the renaissance, and I’d like to welcome New Politics and LOLO to the family. I feel like I have more time to devote to this again and the state of music is so exciting right now. Though we are launching this independently we are open to working with people who are dedicated, passionate and interested in finding new ways to operate. stay tuned for more announcements coming soon.

Welcome to decade 2. DCD2.
