Swiss folk metallers Eluveitie have released a music video for ‘Epona’ which is taken from their forthcoming album ‘Evocation II – Pantheon’. It’s been eight years since the band released ‘Evocation I’, seeing them swap their electronic instruments for acoustic ones and ‘Evocation II – Pantheon’ will follow suit.
“We’re super happy and proud to present you ‘Epona’ – the first single of our upcoming album ‘Evocation II – Pantheon’!”, states front man Shrivel Glanzmann. “The song is an ode to the riding goddess queen of the Celtic pantheon! And this not only lyrically. Also musically, for even though ‘Epona’ is an acoustic track, the song surges ahead with verve, power and speed and dashes like a galloping horse! It is a good song to give you a first glimpse of the raw, wild, honest, very folky and thoroughly Celtic character of ‘Evocation II – Pantheon’!”
With much of their music based around storytelling and history, the band have also released a video that explains the story behind ‘Epona’ which you can watch here.
‘Evocation II – Pantheon’ is set for release on 18th August via Nuclear Blast and is available to pre-order now.
Eluveitie also play a one off UK date on 3rd November at Islington Assembly Hall, London as a part of their tour with Amaranthe and The Charm The Fury
