Geoff Rickly and former Lostprophets members unveil No Devotion

By Ben Tipple

Having teased a new band some weeks ago, former Thursday and current United Nations vocalist Geoff Rickly has joined with former Lostprophets members Mike Lewis, Lee Gaze, Jamie Oliver, Stuart Richardson and Luke Johnson to form No Devotion.

Following the high-profile arrest of former Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins, the remaining band members took a step back before contacting Rickly with a few instrumental demos.

“To be honest, I never really listened to Lostprophets,” Rickly admits in the press release supporting the announcement. “But with this music, we speak a common language. You don’t really grow out of punk, you grow with it. To my mind, post-punk was about taking a more sophisticated approach to that sound, and I think we all have a shared respect for that era of modern music.”

No Devotion are set to release their debut single, ‘Stay’, on the 21st July via Rickly’s Collect Records label. They will also be playing a number of dates in July in support of the record.
