Good Charlotte announce first US show and release new track

By Ben Tipple

Having teased their return over the last few days, Good Charlotte can now confirm that they have released their new single, ‘Makeshift Love’.

The track is available now via Apple Music and iTunes, with general release from the 7th November 2015. They will also be playing a one-off show, their first in over 5 years, on the 19th November at Los Angeles’ Troubadour.

“We all wanted to stand on stage together again, as a band,” explains Benji Madden about their decision to come out of hiatus for this surprise show. “We wanted to do it especially for our fans at home in America, and share this special moment.”

“We played the Troubadour and Eric Valentine came out to see us in front of our fans,” Madden told Alternative Press. “That night we decided we would go into the studio together and make the next record, which would become ‘The Young and The Hopeless’.”

With 2016 marking 20 years since the start of Good Charlotte, Madden adds, “these days we are all operating on feelings, so we will see how it feels!”

Good Charlotte will be joined by Watermarks at the LA show.
