John Coffey reveal video to celebrate new EP

Dutch outfit John Coffey – you know, fronted by the guy who did this – have announced the release of their new EP, ‘A House For Thee’, due on the 11th March 2016.

To celebrate, the band have unveiled the video for the almost-title-track, ‘No House For Thee’.

“It’s a song in which we want to make clear that when a brother or sister from afar needs help, we should offer it,” the band explain. “The lyrics in the song can be quite harsh, being based on the tragedies which happen on our European seas. But if it represents anything at all, it is always a call for humanity. There should always be a house for those who lost their own.”

The EP has been recorded with Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou who has previously worked with the likes of Every Time I Die, Modern Life is War, Code Orange and Kvelertak. “We wanted to work with Kurt for a long time,” John Coffey add. “These songs and their themes asked for a harder and darker sound than our previous recordings. And it worked out: these are the hardest and roughest John Coffey-songs ever.”
