Just when you thought it was safe to play outside…

King Prawn hit back at Jesse James for the now infamous HITS incident. This is the KP official statement, thanks to Jym. And yes, I know there are spelling mistakes, I think it’s an attempt at being funny… “During our recent performance at Holidays in the Sun, there was an on-stage confrontation between Babar Luck and Donna (spelling?) from Jessie James. This led to members of King Prawn having to forcibly remove him from the stage. This matter should only concern those involved in the incident, but due to various rumors and some ridiculous comments about the incident, we feel the need to briefly put the record straight. During our performance, Babar made a comment to the audience that Donna totally misunderstood to be a direct criticism of Jessie James. Babar had no prior knowledge of any songs or records by Jessie James and his comment was in no way whatsoever directed at Jessie James or any other particular band. But rather than seeking an explanation after our performance, Donna chose to walk on-stage and aggressively confront Babar during one of our songs. He refused to leave the stage and we consequently reacted to his disruptive behavior by removing him from the stage. No excessive force was used in dealing with his resistance to leave the stage. Regardless of his misunderstanding, Donna’s actions were totally unacceptable. We will not tolerate threats to band members and hostile behavior that seriously disrupts our performance. However, we have no axes to grind and as far as King Prawn are concerned the situation was dealt with and the matter is closed.”
