Reports are circulating that Kevin Whittemore, guitarist and founding member of Grand Rapids trailblazers La Dispute, has announced his departure from the band. The news comes as La Dispute finish their US run with Mansions and Pianos Become The Teeth.
The departure of Whittemore, confirmed by the band’s publicist but yet to be announced formally by the band themselves, is the first change to the line-up since before releasing their debut album ‘Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair’ in 2008. There is currently no word of a replacement for their forthcoming UK and EU shows.
La Dispute are preparing to play Groezrock Festival in Belgium at the start of May.
