letlive. reveal new track, ‘Reluctantly Dead’

By Ben Tipple

It’s a Sunday evening here in the UK, so that means that that not only are we celebrating the release of new Radiohead material, those with a desire for the heavier are being gifted with the new track by letlive.. Following up their ‘Good Mourning America’, a song which has seen them take a tiny step back from their visceral vocal screams, ‘Reluctantly Dead’ treads the same path. It’s a style that has so far suited letlive. well, and despite the shift has proved explosive live. This one is all about melody.

Speaking to Daniel P Carter who premiered the track on BBC Radio 1, letlive.’s Jason Aalon Butler says the track is about humanising authority. Originally written on the piano, he explains it’s about figuring out the threshold for when people step over the line.

Stream the track, taken from their forthcoming ‘If I’m The Devil…’, due on the 10th June 2016.
