Manchester alt/punk/ indie extravaganza ‘A Carefully Planned Festival’ (ACP) takes place this weekend. It’s staged over a host of venues in the Northern Quarter of the city and has 153 bands confirmed for the two days.
Hindsights, Best Friends and grunge-rock songstress Hannah Lou Clark are some of the highlights on the bill.
The whole shebang will be spread across Night and Day, Gullivers, The Castle, Cord, AATMA (near Kraak), Soup Kitchen and more.
Matthew Boycott-Garnett is ACP’s organiser and seems pretty chuffed with himself about putting on a rock concert. “A Carefully Planned Festival is a celebration of our seven years of organising events. If you like good people and you like great music, you’ll really like this. I’m very excited,” he said.
It’s the fifth time he’s run ACP and previous years have seen breakout sets from Alt-J, Everything Everything and This Town Needs Guns.
Tickets are £12.50 per day or £17.50 for the weekend. It kicks off just after lunchtime on Saturday 17th and runs until late night on Sunday 18th. For more info, go to the ACP wordpress or get tickets direct from the DICE website.
