Having been set to play the very same stage last year before pulling out due to undisclosed personal reasons, Mastodon will return for the 2016 bill, Daniel P Carter has revealed.
Taking to Twitter and confirming the announcement on the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, Carter places Mastodon alongside the likes of Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Creeper, Citizen, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Modern Baseball, State Champs and Basement across the weekend.
Mastodon will take to the Pit on the Saturday of Reading and the Sunday of Leeds, with Red Hit Chili Peppers celebrating headline duties on the Main Stage. Foals, Disclosure, Biffy Clyro and Fall Out Boy take up the other Main Stage headlining slots at the festival, with Reading and Leeds celebrating two co-headlined days.
A further announcement is due later this week. The event will take place on August Bank Holiday weekend between 26th-28th at Braham Park in Leeds, and Richfield Avenue in Reading. Tickets for both festivals are on sale now from the official website.
