Meet Me In St Louis are back for two very special UK shows

By Ben Tipple

If you missed Meet Me In St Louis the first time around, 2016 is the year to make amends. Having parted ways in 2007 following the departure of vocalist Toby Hayes, the Surrey post-hardcore meets math-rock quintet are back for two very special UK shows.

“The planets have aligned and for the first time getting together to play these songs feels right,” says drummer Paul Phillips. “This opportunity may not come along again so we owe it to ourselves in this one life we have to do it, and do it to the best of our ability, and have a fucking good time in the process.”

Judging by these words, it’s less of a reunion proper and more of an opportunity to relive days gone by. Still, when the days were this good, it’s one not to be missed.

Meet Me In St Louis will be playing the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on the 17th June, followed by London’s The Dome on the 18th. Tickets go on sale Friday at 9AM GMT.

The band recently put their full back-catalogue up to stream and to purchase via Big Scary Monsters, including their seminal ‘Variations on Swing’ full-length.
