Murmurs showcase ‘The Void’ via Noisey

Retro, revival, resurgence… these words seem to be appearing a lot over not only our pages, but a multitude of publications in recent months. Cynics may argue that this means music has reached its saturation point – it’s no longer possible to create something truly original. The truth is likely far from this. Instead bands are drawing upon influences and mixing them together to create a different, if not entirely unique sound.

Seattle’s Murmurs do just that. There are hints of horror-punk (see The Misfits), hints of 90s grunge, and more than a little Weezer-esque indie-rock. Ultimately, it’s as if a gritty punk band had spent a little too much time in the Californian sun.

‘The Void’ is taken from Murmurs’ forthcoming ‘Bound’ LP, available to pre-order via Dead Broke Records.
