Adding over seventy bands to the line-up, this year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals are really starting to take shape. The announcement also comes with further stage and day splits, placing Asking Alexandria, Mastodon and the newly confirmed Good Charlotte at the top of the ever-important Lock Up/The Pit Stage.
Other notable additions include Black Foxxes back at the festival, graduating from opening The Pit last year to a slot at the coveted NME/Radio 1 Stage. That’s quite a leap. “Reading and Leeds were always big festivals for us and we can’t believe we’ve gone from opening the smallest tent to the second stage in a year! Words can’t describe how stoked we are,” the band announce.
Coheed & Cambria will take to the Main Stage between State Champs and Sleeping With Sirens. Brian Fallon will make a headline appearance on the almost-intimate Festival Republic Stage. Back at the Lock Up/The Pit, Thrice will continue their recent comeback billed just below Asking Alexandria, with Milk Teeth, Heck, ROAM, Beach Slang, SWMRS, Superheaven and Waterparks all appearing on the stage over the weekend.
Frank Turner has been confirmed as the opener for the Main Stage at the Friday in Reading and the Saturday in Leeds, billed just below Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes as well as Nothing But Thieves graduating to the Main Stage. Tonight Alive will also make their UK festival exclusive appearance on the NME/Radio 1 Stage on the Sunday in Reading and the Friday in Leeds.
The event will take place on August Bank Holiday weekend between 26th-28th at Braham Park in Leeds, and Richfield Avenue in Reading. Tickets for both festivals are on sale now from the official website.
