Shudder to Think to reissue second album, ‘Ten Spot’

By Aaron Lohan

D.C. post hardcore/indie rockers Shudder to Think have announced that they will be reissuing their 1990 second album, ‘Ten Spot’.

The release has been remastered from the original tapes from its recording sessions and will be pressed on blue vinyl. It also comes with revised artwork from Heather Hendrix Russell and will be released on the 19th January 2018 via Dischord Records.

The band were primarily active from 1986 to 1998, where they released six albums. The first four were released through indie labels, 1989 debut ‘Curses, Spells, Voodoo, Mooses’ via Sammich Records and its follow ups including the aforementioned ‘Ten Spot’, 1991’s ‘Funeral at the Movies’ and 1992’s ‘Get Your Goat’ through Dischord. The band would go on to sign with major label Epic Records, releasing the seminal ‘Pony Express Record’ in 1994 and their last LP, 1997’s ‘50,000 B.C.’. By 1998, the group disbanded and went to various projects, but would reform briefly, from 2007 to 2009 and in 2013. Stylistically, the band utilised a brand of post hardcore and indie rock that was woven with pop and classic rock sensibilities.
