7 stages just isn’t enough, right? Well, at least that’s the conclusion Slam Dunk Festival organisers have reached, adding an 8th to each site.
The acoustic/solo stage will be headed up by The Rocket Summer, joined by Rob Lynch, Away Days (Jono of Blitz Kids), Elder Brother (members of The Story So Far), Greywind, Grumble Bee, Seafoal, Bethan Leadly and Lianne Kaye.
“I’m thrilled to be playing the Acoustic stage at Slam Dunk this year,” says Jack Bennet of Grumble Bee, having released his ‘Disconnect’ EP earlier this year. “It’ll be great to show people a more stripped back version of my live stuff, so I’m excited for the challenge.”
That’s not all though. Ska legends The Beat will be heading to Slam Dunk, as well as The JB Conspiracy.
Bury Tomorrow will be bringing their DJ skills, although not full band, to the festival to headline the UPRAWR Stage. “After playing Slam Dunk so many times it almost feels like summer is not the same without us being there,”” says singer Dani Winter–Bates. “So obviously we couldn’t play this year but myself and Dav have been known for our crazy DJ sets and Slam Dunk along with Uprawr decided to get us involved. We love getting everyone pumped and in the party vibe so you can expect an absolutely insane DJ set !! We cannot wait!”
That stage will also see Mel Clarke, Party Blinders, as well as Shikari Sound System and live performances from Astroid Boys and The Qemist.
This years festival takes place across the May Bank Holiday 28th – 30th, in Leeds, Birmingham, and Hatfield, with tickets for all dates on sale now. More information about Slam Dunk Festival can be found on their official website.
