Slam Dunk Festival launch Fresh Blood Stage competition and Uprawr DJ Stage

By Ben Tipple

Slam Dunk Festival have launched the Fresh Blood Stage competition, in conjunction with Kerrang! magazine. Fans are able to vote for the act to appear at the festival, choosing from ten pre-selected new acts.

To vote for either Boy Jumps Ship, The Hype Theory, Trash Boat, Zoax, Palm Reader, Astroid Boys, La Fontaines, Dead!, Crooks or For The Win, head to the Kerrang! website.

In addition to the competition, the festival – or more specifically John Franceschi – has shot down rumours that the band will be playing their debut album in full. “The rumours are……incorrect” he revealed. “However, this being the 10th year of Slam Dunk as well as You Me At Six’s 10th year…we will be extensively paying homage to that with songs from our first record.”

The last part of the Slam Dunk triple threat announcement sees confirmation of the Uprawr DJ Stage. Dani & Davyd Winter-Bates of Bury Tomorrow will take to the decks, as will Tek One, The Algorithm and Terufumi Tomano of Crossfaith. The DJ stage will also welcome Mel Clarke and resident Uprawr faces.

For full details, and to get hold of tickets, head to the Slam Dunk Festival website.
