Opening later this week, Slaves guitarist Laurie Vincent will be showcasing some of his art at the Amersham Arms on the 19th March.
“I’d like my paintings to excite and inspire other people,” says Vincent, inspired by the likes of Basquia, Warhol and Pettibon. “I want my paintings hung on gallery walls and in people’s collections. I just want to take my painting as far as it will go and to keep enjoying it.”
Vincent has seen his art pictured on the band’s releases and flyers since their inception, having taken part in his first exhibition alongside members of Genghar, Alt-J and Bombay Bicycle Club at Hackney Downs Studios last year.
The launch night will include DJ sets from BBC Radio 1’s Phil Taggart, as well as a special set from a secret guest. It will open from 7.30pm on the 19th and the exhibition will remain open all day on the 20th March.
