Sonisphere Festival confirm BABYMETAL UK debut

By Ben Tipple

Having built their following through the internet (it is 2014 after all…), BABYMETAL have now been confirmed at the latest addition to the Sonisphere Festival line-up.

Likely to split opinion, the band deliver a mix of Icon Pop (J-pop idol) and heavy metal. Since their manufactured beginning as part of Sakura Gakuin (a revolving roster of Japanese teenage idols), the band have become the youngest group to play the Summer Sonic Festival in Japan, averaging at just 12 back in 2012.

Their name attempts to signify a new start to metal – a rebirth.

Promising an energetic stage show full of theatrics, BABYMETAL take to the Bohemia Stage on the Sunday.

Various ticket packages for the festival, headlined by The Prodigy, Iron Maiden and Metallica, are available here.
