The Apostates Announce They Are Splitting

By Mike Scott

PT is sad to announce that long time London Punk trio The Apostates announced yesterday they are calling it a day. The band last released the excellent ‘Wide Eyed and Determined’ in 2012. They have released this statement:
“Hello, beloved fans of our little band. Here we are, crawling out of the wilderness after months of silence and introspection with some breaking news for you. News that will probably come as no great surprise to anyone who follows us; we have decided to call time on The Apostates.

After eight years together, we feel like we’ve arrived at a point where it’s time to move on and focus on other pursuits in and life and in music.

As some sort of parting gift, we have uploaded our old (ska days!) material to our bandcamp. There’s also some unreleased demos from way back when and some of the last few demo recordings of songs that would probably have ended up on album number two.

We want to thank everyone who ever came to see us live. Everyone who bought a record. Everyone who allowed us to play at their venue, festival, radio show, front room, squat and airfield base. Everyone who let us crash on their floor and/or cooked us delicious vegan food. Every band we’ve had the pleasure of sharing a stage with and to all of the life-long friends that we have made. We love you all from the bottom of our hearts.

Farewell!
Adam, Mike and Steve

The tunes they speak of are available for free on their Bandcamp – as is everything they’ve done. Do get yourself a copy of their 2012 aforementioned LP too.
