UK’s leading music venue owner purchases the Brighton Hippodrome

Academy Music Group, the owners of numerous UK music venues including, O2 Academy Brixton and Shepherd’s Bush Empire have purchased the Grade II listed Victorian building in Brighton to return it to it’s former glory of being an entertainment venue. The building was initially going to be a part of a huge redevelopment of the Duke Street and Middle Street area, which would have seen the building become a part of a shopping and cinema complex, however plans for the Hippodrome have been saved by AMG and theatre campaigners.

Though this is only the start and the reconstruction is going to be a lengthy process, with a capacity of 1,400 the Brighton Hippodrome looks set to become an asset to the Brighton live music scene and we can’t wait to see it!
