Universal Music has delivered on its promise to sue MySpace, according to the BBC. MySpace has called the lawsuit “meritless litigation”.
There are possibilities for YouTube to face similar cases in the near future as, until now, companies have held off suing YouTube due to knowing it was running on minimal investment and all its value was tied up in potential sale and stock values. Since it’s now been bought by Google, who have the money to afford almost any payout, media firms might start queueing up.
