Amidst all the Valentine’s madness this week, we announced our brand new club night (named after us, of course) in London at The Old Blue Last. It’ll be every third Friday of the month, with the first event taking place on March 21. Each night will have live music to kick things off before partying into the wee hours with the promise of all bangers loosely in the punk rock/pop punk/emo genres. Oh, and it’s free entry. The first night we’re stoked (and simultaneously saddened) to tell you that we’ll be hosting Home Advantage’s last ever show. As always, nights are 18+ only. Full details coming soon.
Ahead of their April shows with Brand New and Saves the Day, The Front Bottoms released the official new video for ‘Backflip’, taken from last year’s ‘Talon Of The Hawk’. It’s suitably ridiculous. Take a look below.
Other The Front Bottoms and Saves The Day news includes an announcement of two shows around the Brand New London date on April 12. One is AFTER the gig itself (can we hear you say midnight show?!) for P-Rock at Duke’s Bar in Aldgate, and tickets are available now for £10 from http://prock.fatsoma.com/. The other show is the next day in Kingston.
TFB and Saves The Day weren’t the only bands announcing shows this week; festival line ups and tours were appearing left right and centre.
Warped Tour have announced their acoustic basement tour will come to the UK this year, with an excellent line up of Geoff Rickly (Thursday), Koji, Brian Marquis and Rob Lynch.
Having announced that they’re planning on calling it a day after the next album and world tour, Anberlin released their final UK dates; grab your tickets quick! Check out their announcement video below.
Following the recent release of absolute banger ‘Good Luck’, Bath’s latest export Decade announced their UK tour for May this year. Tickets on sale now- grab ’em whilst you can.
The festivals got in on the action too, with announcements from Slam Dunk (see the poster below), Hit The Deck and Sonisphere. To see a full list of who’s been revealed for what and where to head for tickets, check out our round up of this week’s announcements.
Contrary to the above poster, H2O will NOT be playing this year’s Slam Dunk festival, despite being part of the initial announcement. If you want to read a statement from the band and festival then it has been made available. Don’t let it get you down, though, the line up still definitely warrants a ticket purchase.
South London’s noise-pop-punk duo and definite ones to watch, playlounge, have announced the release of their debut album along with its full tracklisting. ‘pilot’ will be released on the 14th of April via Dog Knights Productions, the current home of Punktastic ones to watch, Nai Harvest. We for one, can’t wait.
