Taken from the Moon Ska website: “No joke this one! We thought this whole recent “Solstice Rise” UK tour had been suspiciously quiet. After picking up a what they believed to be an 18 year old girl after the gig in Middlesborough who wanted to travel on the road with the band, it would later turn out that this new friend of the band, had given the band a false name and age. Her parents considered she was missing and notified the police that she was in fact a “missing person”. Blissfully unaware of the situation the band took her with them on the next few gigs. Even being stopped several times by the police for “suspected motoring offences” nobody realised, the police included, that the girl in the tour van was the subject of a “missing persons” investigation. That is until one eagle eyed member of WHITMORE saw a TV plea for her to contact home! The stunned Whitmore crew confronted the girl who then admitted she was actually 17 and had given them a false name! The story became more bizarre when arriving at the nearest police station, when the police notified the band that she was “over 16” and “she could do what she wanted”…consequently the band left her at the police station.”
