Yashin unveil new single, ‘Dorothy Gale’

By Ben Tipple

Following its premiere last night on the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, Yashin have unveiled fulled details of their forthcoming comeback single. ‘Dorothy Gale’ will be available from the 6th November, and features former The King Blues vocalist Itch.

“The chorus lyrics ultimately show how we all feel sometimes. Even though we have the best job in the world, from time to time it can bring out the worst in us all, there have been periods where it’s been a constant struggle,” says vocalist Kevin Miles.

Co-vocalist Harry Radford adds, “We had a section in the song where Paul our guitarist had envisaged a guest vocalist. We both knew Itch had the potential to take the song to another level. I’ve been a fan of Itch ever since the King Blues, he is one of the best lyricists out there, so I called him and he was really into it, which led to him writing and recording his own part bringing a fresh dynamic to the song.”

‘Dorothy Gale’ is the first material to appear from the band’s forthcoming ‘The Renegades’ LP, and arrives ahead of their UK tour supporting Skindred.

‘Dorothy Gale’ is available to stream via the BBC website, either on their Playlister or by listening to last night’s Rock Show.
