Grieving aren’t about to cure your insomnia

‘No Sleep’ is the first track ever by Cambridge (UK) outfit Grieving, and it’s one hell of a launch. It veers towards turn of the century emo, the Sunny Day Real Estates and Braids of the world, but keeps its distinct British sound mastered by the likes of Tubelord (RIP). It’s as lofty as Grieving’s predecessors but there’s the considered heaviness on display, the type that characterised Biffy Clyro in their early days.

Referencing a bout of insomnia and its impact on a increasingly hectic world, ‘No Sleep’ offers a technically astute rest-bite to the daily bustle. It’s not about to cure that insomnia though; there’s far too much going on for that, in the best way of course.
