Texas trio Purple release their new album ‘(409)’ on November 10th through Play It Again Sam. We have the audio première of their new single, ‘Target’, which you can listen to below as a taster for what is to come from the album:
We also had a quick chat with the band to find out more about the album and their upcoming tour with The Subways.
We’re streaming your new single ‘Target’. Can we expect more of the same when you release your debut album ‘(409)’ in November? Or would you say all of the tracks are fairly different?
All of our tracks are fairly different. We get bored real easy. Every song has its own unique emotion to it.
You’ve recently played shows in the UK, and you’re coming back to play with The Subways. How did you find playing over here? And how are you feeling about the upcoming tour?
Playing the UK was an eye opener for us. We feel that rock ‘n’ roll is really getting pampered there. We need more of that kind of love in the States. We are really stoked about doing this tour: there is a lot more of the world to see, and to be doing it with our art is a dream come true.
What are your plans for the rest of the year and beyond? And where would you ideally like to be in five years?
Our plan after the tour is to write new material and make our big move to Austin, Texas. Its time that we got out of the small town mentality. In five years we’d like to be doing the exact same thing we’ve been doing just with more fans.
