Having just completed recording with Feed The Rhino’s Oliver ‘Oz’ Craggs (Mallory Knox, Hildamay, Pay No Repect), Essex based four-piece See You In Reno are set to unleash an audible assault on the unexpected masses. A far cry from the wave of British melodic bands pushing towards the surface, See You In Reno are a louder, brasher and more intricate band.
Already drawing tenuous comparisons to At The Drive-In, the band instead play out like a rougher Reuben, or a homage to earlier, more unpredictable Biffy Clyro days. Frontman Adam Midas Rich’s guttural screams and fractured shouts hint at that of Jamie Lenman, particularly on the crazed opening moments of ‘Check’ – a track which ultimately offers a sophisticated take on modern British hardcore.
‘Check’ is released today (21st July), and taken from the band’s forthcoming debut EP.
