Premiere of ‘1.20’ by German punks The Deadnotes

By Mark Johnson

We’re excited to bring you ‘1.20’, the new single from German punk trio The Deadnotes. ‘1.20’ revolves around the last 80 minutes of a journey after being on the road for countless hours, making it a fitting track to release just prior to the band’s imminent UK tour.

“We wasted so many hours on concrete roads since we formed this band so we had to write them a little ode,” guitarist Darius Lohmüller explains. “The song is about the last 1.20 hours spent on the A5 motorway before finally being home. It’s where you find yourself lost in thoughts, fears, expectations and wallowing in reminiscences. When you start to overthink every little issue and just can‘t stand anyone anymore. We’d been on tour for 32 days straight in summer 2016 and had an 16 hour overnight ride from Penzance (UK) back to our hometown Freiburg. That was without doubt one of the most intense of such experiences and a major inspiration to this track.”
