Today marks the release of This Burning Age’s latest EP ‘Salvation’ and we’re giving you the opportunity to stream the release in full. Check out ‘Salvation’ below and keep scrolling to learn more about each song, courtesy of front-man and songwriter Friday:
Conceal
This is a very personal track. I was writing about the moment of clarity that can happen when you’re at your absolute lowest ebb. It’s peace after discord. Sweetness in solitude. Joy from sorrow.
Repeat to Fade
Unusually for me this song is more of a traditional narrative. It’s about a girl who’s selling everything she has and using the only way she knows to escape. [Repeat to Fade is a revisit and reworking of a track initially included on the band’s debut album, A Muzzle for the Masses]
Nevermore
I’m afraid I’m just one more in a long line to be influenced by Poe. It’s about destructive love. It’s about a sense of loss. It’s about the desire to be completely and utterly consumed by something and, at the same time, the desire to be nothing, to be gone.
