Never shying away from soaring melodies, Witterquick have upped the ante with new track, ‘Rise’. Their prominent pop-hooks sit against a distinct alternative edge, pushing their emotive crescendo into the stratosphere as the track builds. The chorus is made for mass-singalongs, perfect to blast out of festival speakers as the sun begins to set.
“‘Rise’ has always been the big one for us, we’ve been excited about this one coming out for almost a year,” the band reveal, clearly preparing to make ‘Rise’ a live favourite. The track will feature on their forthcoming debut EP, ‘Beneath The Spinning Lights’, due on the 17th June via LAB Records. “The fact that we are releasing it with LAB Records is even more amazing…we can’t wait for people to hear it,” they add.
“We want something real. We want something that means something,” Will Alford continues, speaking of their goal as a band. “A lot of music today is lacking that…‘thing’, that little spark, that pulls us into the music we love. We want every song we write to be our favourite song, and so far we’re nailing it.”
With ‘Rise’, Alford might just be right.
‘Rise’ will appear on ‘Beneath The Spinning Lights’, due for release on the 17th June via LAB Records. The band have a number of shows and festival appearances in the pipeline, including playing alongside Muncie Girls and Tourists for BBC Radio 1’s #R1Academy project.
