In our recent 20 Acts To Watch in 2016, we played fast and loose with Faux’s description. Are they pop? Are they rock? Are they emo? Are they prockmo? Let’s go with that last one.
Regardless, their talent shines through. Born out of the ashes of heavier outfits before them, Faux’s accomplished blend of styles is self-evident. On this, their cover of ‘Sex’ by similar crossovers The 1975, their product is pushed to the point of breathtaking. Led by vocalist Lee Male, this rendition is hauntingly beautiful. A stunning taste of Faux’s diversity.
“We decided to cover this song as it has all of the elements of a great modern pop song which is what we have been trying to capture in our second EP that we just finished recording with Neil Kennedy at The Ranch,” says Male, “obviously we made it slightly more emo than the original because it is still 2003… We promise.”
