Emerging from the ashes of promising UK alt bands, Smother have unleashed their debut track, ‘Pansy’. The song, taken from the forthcoming EP of the same name, sees former Leopards vocalist Jenna Clare team up with, among others, ex-members of Climates to channel a broad range of influences, not least the melodic rock that catagorised their former outfits.
Recorded with producer Bob Cooper, the track steadily builds towards a tuneful crescendo that continues the members’ upward trajectory. Smother are also gearing up to take the show on the road, looking to cement more live dates in the near future.
“Were just really excited to finally get some music out,” says Jenna for now. “It feels like we’ve been sat on on it for such a long time so it’s feels so good to actually share it with everyone!”
